Video Library

Our Video Library has now been in operation for 23 years. Membership is free upon production of two forms of identification, one of which must show address and one must show a signature. We prefer one proof of identification to show a photograph. Normally the minimum age for membership is 16 years. Other members of the family can use the membership card if required.

We hire out DVDs and PS2 games. Films and games may be returned through the letterbox if necessary.
Please note that we have suspended VHS rentals due to space restrictions in our new premises.
We will review the situation when we have completed our alterations.

Normally all films are due for return on the following day of business by 7:00 pm
(on a Saturday that means Monday - we are not open Sundays).

If you have a problem with any film or game then please let us know. We do spot check films, but it is impractical to check every film that comes back.
The rates are as follows:-
DVDs - £3.00 per night.
PS2 Games - £2.00 per night or £5.00 for 5 nights.

If films are returned late then we levy overdue charges at the daily rate.
Extended hire discounts may be given at our discretion.

If any film or game is lost or damaged beyond repair then we will charge to replace the film. The charge is the cost to us of replacing the unit with a second hand copy at trade price. However please be aware that the films are rental units and typically cost 3 or 4 times more than retail copies. This may not be as punitive as it sounds as 3 or 4 weeks after the release date, the second hand prices drop dramatically.

We operate a booking service but stress that although we will take bookings we cannot guarentee them as we are dependant on the films being returned in time and in good condition.

Although we no longer hire out VHS films, we do have a large stock of ex-rental tapes for sale. They are mostly priced at £3.00 each. Please note that not all films are kept at our premises, therefore if you have an interest in a particular title then please ask.


We do enforce the law as regards age. All films and tickets show the relevant certificate. For your information the various certificates are shown in the table below. Please note that in addition to the certificates shown there is also an 18R (restricted) certificate - these films are adult and are normally supplied through licensed sex shops etc. We do NOT supply them.
